It’s been a while

As usual, heading towards summer has been a hectic journey!

To recap, I am a student and I also work in a University so up until May-June life is busy.

I handed in all my undergraduate work back in May and I am now waiting for the results to trickle in! *fingers crossed* – So far so good!

It has been a long and bumpy ride juggling University studies, a busy part-time job and freelance opportunities, but it has been worth every second.

This year, I have discovered a lot about myself, through work, university and just meeting more creative people in general. I’m glad I took a leap to introduce myself to new people.

I’ve worked with clients freelancing on one-off copywriting projects, worked with local businesses, done event reviews, volunteered and applied for many exciting projects and roles so now we’ll wait and see what the future brings, but instead of fear and dreading outcomes, I’m feeling excited. 🙂

To anyone wondering if it’s all worth the stress my answer is, it may not feel like it at the time, but yes. As long as you are putting yourself out there for things you are passionate about then it will all be worth it – don’t be afraid to try something new to you. It took me a very long time to get over that ‘impostor syndrome’, lack of confidence or whatever you want to call it. You can only do things by trying and being a bit braver than you feel sometimes! It’s a delicate balance to grab as many opportunities as you can, without overloading yourself, but in most cases we are more capable than we often think we are.

Once I get my final results, I’m hoping to change job roles and to enter a few more writing competitions.

Let me know if you’re in the creative field – what new challenges have you taken on this year?
